Some typical licks Many other licks are also available on Michael Horowitz's forum. Strongly recommended!
Yet another Gatsby's lick (730 KB). A nice lick to be played over a dominant 7th chord (A7 here).
A lick from Biréli (660 KB). In order to be played at high tempos, this lick must be picked with both upwards and downwards sweeping, without foloowing the usual downstrokes rules. This is an example among others that shows how Biréli can get off the beaten tracks.
Another Gatsby's lick (450 KB)
Romain Brizemur lick on Django Tiger (slightly tuned down) (1.360 KB) The ideal lick to practice alternate picking (strictly alternate in here).
Yorgui Loeffler lick over Minor Swing (610 KB)
Stochelo lick over Blue Bossa (950 KB)
Rythme Futur (Stochelo version) This version performed by Stochelo proves tp which extent he masters what I call "v-v", even at 160 bpm. Work at a tempo slow enough to play cleanly. My transcription of the video available on YouTube, the GuitarPro4 file and the Midi file.

A simple lick that sounds good Simple and efficient, I think that one swings a lot. (1.110 KB)
A Biréli lick (in D) This lick that comes from Biréli stress the notes of the major D chord on the 5th fret. All played in alternate picking, the difficulty is to pick accurately despite the many string skips. (920 KB)

Lick from Minor Blues (in A) A few -v-v- here and there. (1.020 KB)
Ascending and descending chromatisms The tough point is to keep a regular pace on the part in glissando (unlike me umph!). Execution speed can be very fast once the movement is mastered. There's still some work for me especially when played with only two fingers on the left hand (the one that most sounds Manouche)! Ascending (1.080 KB) Ascending with two fingers and a glissando on each string (1.420 KB) Descending (1.190 KB)
Diminished lick on three strings A lick often used by the Rosenberg. The fast part is directly taken from Les Yeux Noirs in the Django version. (1.790 KB)
Diminished lick on three strings A lick played by Angelo Debarre. Harder than the previous one because of the -v-v- movement with string skipping. (1.780 KB)
A Rosenberg lick A lick from Stochelo Rosenberg on Viajeiro. To be played over a 9 chord (A9 here). (1.610 KB)
Typical Manouche lick with 4 notes per string A lick that definitely sounds Manouche but that you should not overuse or play on two octaves as is the case here. All played in alternate picking. String change is the toughest part of it. (1.490 KB)
Typical lick To be played over a dominant 7 chord (in A7 here). (1.250 KB)
Typical lick A Rosenberg-like plan. To be played over a m7 chord (in Bm7 here). (1.640 KB)
