Improvising on a dominant 7th chord that resolves on the root note (V7) - 2nd part

In this section, we wil focus on another V7 chord shape that is often used: chords with root on the A string.
For each chart, improvise on the chord depicted in yellow dots using exclusively the red dots.

There are 3 shapes for this chord (from the most to the least used):


Often V9 chords are used as a replacement:


Arpeggios (in red)

V7: The most obvious arpeggios on a V7.




Diminished: The most used shape in Manouche.




Augmented: A more jazzy sound (over E7/5+).


2 tones - tone: A shape most used in jazz (over E7/5-).



Bm6: Sounds nice.



Scales

Diatonic (mixolydian mode)



Melodic minor (dominant lydian mode)


Melodic minor (mixolydian b6 mode)


Harmonic minor (mixolydien b2 b6 mode, fine over a E7b9/5+)


On diminished intervals: Sometimes used in Manouche.



half-tone tone: A shape more used in jazz.


Whole tone: A shape more used in jazz (over E7/5- or E7/5+).
